System Tips: Using System “Tasking” Functions

PhyLogic’s AdvancedMD™ system has some very useful “tasking” capabilities which are over looked by some of our clients. If you are unfamiliar with these functions, or have been putting off using them, let’s take a look at what they are and how they work to see if they would be of benefit to your practice!

System tasking is a standard part of the PhyLogic practice management system and allows users to send messages, general tasks, or patient-specific task to other users (or themselves), and associate a time frame with the task.

Tasks lists are a terrific tool in today’s busy medical practice and they have many uses. For instance, they can be used to convey information requests, messages, office tasks and other assignments within the office.

They also allow for excellent communication between you and your Reimbursement Specialists here at PhyLogic. For instance, a PhyLogic Reimbursement Specialist may need a bit of information from you such as a medical note for an appeal. Rather than call during your busy day, or send a fax (which could get lost), they can simply task you and attach it to the patient record. A small flashing “sticky note” will appear in the lower right hand corner of your screen indicating you have a request.

To use tasking, we suggest that you contact your Reimbursement Specialist so they may set up an online training session for you (at no cost, of course). However, the basics are easy. Your task list can be accessed either by clicking the “Recall” menu item in the upper left hand corner of the screen and then selecting “Task list”, or, you can click the small “sticky note” icon in the lower right hand portion of the screen.
