Tech Tip #2 - Using the Patient Selection Screen

Did you know that you can search for a patient in PhyLogic’s AdvancedMD system by more than just a name?

One of the best ways to search for a patient is by their Date Of Birth. To do this, open the Select Patient screen and then click on the DOB radio button prior to entering the search criteria. Alternatively, you can also do this by entering a ‘/’ before entering the patient’s DOB (no need to click the DOB button).

If you are entering all 8 digits of the Date of Birth, you can key in the numbers without any additional separators. For example, if you are searching for a patient with a DOB of April 15, 2010, you would just key in “/04152010”. It is as simple as that.

In addition, you can search for patients by other criteria as well (such as Phone, Address, Social Security..etc). To see the many search options that are available, just click the ellipsis button in the ‘Patient Selection’ box and you will see that you have a wide variety of items you can search by.

Note that by using the character symbol you see next to each search option, you can search by that field from the main ‘Patient Selection’ box by using the specific character symbol in front of the data you enter, just like you did by adding the ‘/’ in front of a DOB.

Once in this patient selection screen you can also hit the F1 button to access even more information in the help files.
